Dennis Gannon is a veteran, businessman, and valued member of the Jefferson County community.

From an early age, Dennis was immersed in county politics. After graduating from De Soto High School in 1973, Gannon was employed by his family’s business, Clifford Gannon Family Partnership, where he worked alongside Jefferson County officeholders and various departments on real estate and development projects.

In 1974, Dennis joined the United States Naval Reserve. Throughout his military career, which included stints in the Missouri Army National Guard and U.S. Army Reserve, Dennis held several officer positions and received multiple awards commending his service. He retired in 1994 as a Major.

From 1987 to 2016, Dennis served as the General Manager of the Holiday Inn and Comfort Inn in Festus. Since 1980, Dennis has participated in the development of the Gannon Center and is co-owner of property in the Gannon Plaza.

Dennis has held leadership positions on a number of boards including the Jefferson College Board of Trustees, the De Soto School District Board of Education, and the Jefferson County Port Authority. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for Mercy Hospital and First State Community Bank, and is a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of De Soto.

In 1975, Dennis earned his associate’s degree from Jefferson College and graduated from Tarkio College with a Bachelor of Science in Business in 1987.

His wife, Elaine Gannon, is a retired public school teacher of 32 years and the current State Representative for District 115.

Married for 42 years, they have two children and an English Sheep dog named Mint Julep.
